About Vicki

Some might say Vicki's life is a bouillabaisse of professions and passions. Others might call it a motley mix of careers and crazy. Both would be correct.  

The award-winning author now also writes as Sanna Brand, whose Regency Romance, THE BOND (out 2023) is the first novel in her series, The Secret Tales.

Vicki’s fantasy romance series, The Made Ones Saga, launched with ALTERED, continued with CHANGED, and climaxed with ASCENDANT and she continues work on her Afterworld Chronicles.

Vicki’s published mystery/thriller novels include Body Parts, The Dead Stone, The Bone Man, and The Grief Shop, which won a Daphne du Maurier prize for Best Mainstream Mystery. All feature homicide counselor Tally Whyte.

Her writing and photography have also appeared in Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, Worcester Magazine, Wild Fibers, Dive Training, and other national and regional publications. 

Vicki tapped into her love of knitting to produce Chest of Bone The Knit Collection and co-authored 10 Secrets of the LaidBack Knitters.

For several years, Vicki and her late husband, William G. Tapply, conducted The Writers Studio workshops in creative fiction.

She grew up in professional theater and planned to become an actress. Instead, she slung hamburgers, managed a scuba shop, wrote and project-managed magazine content, and taught Writing the Novel, Writing for Modern Media, and other courses at Clark University. She loved every minute of it. ,

Her passions for scuba diving, fly fishing, knitting, and horses pop up in her novels, as do chocolate, bourbon, and lobster. A mom to two boys, Vicki is currently playing with her pups, Penny and Bash, and her kitty, Sammy, while working on THE DECEPTION, the second book in The Secret Tales.
